Contest rules

*This contest is open to residents of Canada (including the province of Quebec) and is

governed by the laws of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable there.


  • Contest Rules 

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE RULES (HEREINAFTER THE “RULES”) CAREFULLY BEFORE ENTERING THE “SQUEEZE, ENJOY AND WIN YOUR BBQ” CONTEST (THE “CONTEST”) ORGANIZED BY Unilever (MAILLE) (HEREINAFTER THE “CONTEST ORGANIZERS”). BY ENTERING THIS CONTEST, ENTRANTS CERTIFY THAT THEY MEET ALL OF THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS INDICATED BELOW AND AGREE TO COMPLY UNRESERVED WITH THESE RULES AND THE DECISIONS OF THE CONTEST ORGANIZERS, WHICH ARE FINAL AND WITHOUT APPEAL WHAT CONCERNS THE CONTEST UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THESE RULES.

 

  1. Contest period

The “SQUEEZE, ENJOY AND WIN YOUR BBQ” contest (the “Contest”) is being held by Unilever (Maille) (the “Contest Organizers”) and will run online from June 3, 2024, at 12:01 a.m. ET to September 30, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET. To be valid, entries must be received no later than September 30, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (the “Contest Period”).

 

  1. Eligibility
    1. This Contest is open to anyone legally residing in Canada who has reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of entry.
    2. The Contest excludes employees, representatives, proxies and agents of Unilever (Maille) and I-D Foods, Contest sponsors, parent companies, subsidiaries, or affiliates, prize suppliers, and advertising or promotion agencies, and any other parties involved in the design, production, implementation, administration or running of the Contest (collectively referred to as the “Concerned Parties”). Immediate family members of employees, representatives or agents of the Concerned Parties, including parents, brothers, sisters, children, spouses or domestic partners, are also excluded from participating.


  • How to enter 

NO PURCHASE REQUIRED. MAKING A PURCHASE IN NO WAY INCREASES YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING THIS CONTEST.

 

  1. Entrants must complete the online Contest form at www.explorezlessaveurs.ca/contest (the “Contest Website”) to participate.
  2. Limit of one (1) entry per person per day.
  3. Any person who enters or attempts to enter more times than permitted or who uses any robotic, automatic, mechanical, electronic or other method of duplication not authorized under these Rules will be considered to have made an attempt at falsification or manipulation, which will automatically lead to the cancellation of its entry, vote or any other results of this entry.
  4. No entries will be accepted after the deadline mentioned above for any reason. Entries received after this deadline will be rejected.  


  • Prizes 
    1. Five (5) prizes valued at approximately $150 each are offered as part of the Contest.
    2. One (1) basket of Maille products and items in June 2024, one (1) basket of Maille products and items in July 2024, two (2) baskets of Maille products and items in August 2024.
    3. The Contest’s grand prize is one (1) Weber® Genesis E315 gas grill valued at $999.00 and will be drawn at noon on October 1, 2024.
    4. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other alternatives.
    5. Weber is acting solely as the prize provider and is not responsible in any way for running or administering the Contest.

 

  1. Draw

The weekly draws will take place at the offices of the Contest Organizers’ agency in Montreal at 9:00 a.m. (ET) on the dates indicated below. During these five (5) draws, one (1) entry will be randomly selected for a prize from among all entries received.

First Contest draw: June 30, 2024, 9:00:00 a.m. (ET)

Second Contest draw: July 31, 2024, 9:00:00 a.m. (ET)

Third Contest draw: August 31, 2024, 9:00:00 a.m. (ET)

Fourth Contest draw: September 30, 2024, 9:00:00 a.m. (ET)

Fifth Contest draw: October 1, 2024, 12:00:00 p.m. (ET)  

 

  1. Awarding of prizes
    1. During the Contest period, the prize winners will be selected via a random draw among all eligible entrants in accordance with the method of entry defined in Article four (4) of these Rules.
    2. The prize must be accepted as is and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash or other goods. If the announced prize is unavailable, the sponsor reserves the right to replace it with another equivalent or greater value. Winners are not entitled to the cash value of the prize.
    3. The winners will be contacted by email by a representative of the Contest Organizers within five (5) business days following the Contest and must:
      1. Complete and sign the declaration and waiver form (the “Declaration Form”), which will be sent to them by email or fax, attesting to the fact that they have complied with all the conditions provided for in these Rules and return it to them by email or fax so that they receive it within two (2) business days of receipt.
      2. Provide a correct answer to the mathematical skill-testing question that will be included on the declaration form.
      3. Upon request, provide valid photo identification promptly.
      4. If a selected entrant fails to comply with all requirements set out in the Contest Rules, refuses the prize, fails to answer the mathematical skill-testing question correctly, or fails to complete, sign or return the Declaration Form in the manner or within the time limit prescribed by the Contest Organizers, or if they are declared ineligible for the prize in any way, they will be disqualified and will no longer be entitled to the prize. In such event, the Contest Organizers may, in their sole discretion, void the prize or randomly select another eligible entrant from among the remaining eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
    4. The winner will receive their prize by mail within four (4) to six (6) weeks following receipt of the Declaration Form by the Contest Organizers.
    5. If the winners cannot be contacted within ten (10) business days following the first communication attempt, or after at least two (2) attempts, or if they refuse the prize, a new winner will be drawn randomly from among the entrants. Eligible, at the sole discretion of Unilever (Maille).
    6. The names of the grand prize winners will be published on the Maille Facebook page.

 

These Rules ensure transparent and fair Contest management, ensuring all entrants have a fair chance of winning.

 

  1.  Terms and conditions:
    1. ENTRANT

Entrant identification. Within the scope of these Rules, the entrant is the person whose name appears on the entry form, and the prize will be awarded to this person if selected and declared a winner.

  1. PERSONAL INFORMATION
    1. Authorization. By taking part in this Contest, any entrant selected for a prize authorizes the Contest Organizers and their representatives to use, if required, their name, photograph, image, voice, place of residence and/or statement relating to the prize for advertising purposes, and this, without any form of remuneration.
    2. Personal information. Personal information collected about entrants in this Contest will be used solely for running the Contest unless the entrant has otherwise consented. No communication or correspondence, commercial or otherwise, not related to this Contest will be exchanged or sent to the entrant other than by these Rules unless the entrant has otherwise consented.
  2. CONTEST PARTICIPATION
    1. Verification. Entry forms and declaration forms are subject to verification by the Contest Organizers. Any entry form or declaration form which is, as the case may be, incomplete, illegible, mutilated, fraudulent, sent late, or which contains an invalid email address or telephone number, does not include the correct answer to the question mathematical order or is otherwise non-compliant, may be rejected by the Contest Organizers and will not entitle you, as the case may be, to an entry or a prize.
    2. Disqualification and/or compensation under the law. The Contest Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any person or void one or more entries of any person or obtain compensation under the law if they enter or attempt to enter this Contest using any means contrary to these Rules or likely to be unfair to other entrants (e.g. entries beyond the permitted limit). Any attempt to sabotage the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of civil and criminal laws. Should such attempts be made, the Contest Organizers reserve the right to reject the entrant’s entries and seek redress under the law.
    3. Modification. At their sole discretion, the Contest Organizers reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend, in whole or in part, this Contest in the event of an event or any human intervention that may alter or influence the administration, security, impartiality, or conduct of the Contest as provided for in these Rules, subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec, if required.  
    4. End of entry. If, for whatever reason, entry in the Contest should end in whole or in part before the end date provided for in these Rules, the selection of entrants may be made at the discretion of the Contest Organizers. Contest, among the entry forms duly collected and received up to the date of the event that ended the entry.
    5. Property. The Declaration Forms are the property of the Contest Organizers and will not, under any circumstances, be returned to entrants.
    6. Defective unique code. If the packaging of a participating product has a manufacturing defect such that it does not contain a unique code or if the unique code does not comply with these Rules (e.g., it is impossible to enter it due to a printing error) or the unique code does not allow entry in the Contest, the person in possession of defective packaging/unique code may request a new unique code under Article 4 of these Rules (without to needing provide a fifty (50) word text) and taking care to indicate “defective unique code” in the request.
  3. Prize
    1. Limit. In any case, the Contest Organizers cannot be required to award more prizes or prizes other those described in these Rules.
    2. Acceptance. The prizes must be accepted as described in these Rules. They cannot under any circumstances be transferred in whole or in part to another person, substituted for another prize or exchanged for money, subject to what is provided for under these Rules.
    3. Substitution. In the event it is impossible, complex and/or more expensive for the Contest Organizers to award a prize (or part of the prize) as described in these Rules, they reserve the right to award a prize (or part of the prize) of the exact nature and of equivalent value or, at their sole discretion, the monetary value of the prize (or part of the prize) indicated in these Rules.

 

  1. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
    1. How the Contest works. The Contest Organizers, any company, partnership, trust or other legal entity controlled by or linked to them, their advertising and promotion agencies, their employees, representatives and agents, and the prize providers (the “Beneficiaries”) disclaim all liability relating to the malfunction of any computer component, any software or any communication line, relating to the loss or absence of network communication or relating to any faulty, incomplete, incomprehensible or deleted transmission by any computer or network, and which may limit or prevent any person from reading the Contest Rules. The Beneficiaries also disclaim all liability for any damage or loss that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by downloading any Internet page or any software or otherwise and by transmitting any information aimed at participation in the Contest.
    2. Entry in the Contest. By entering or attempting to enter this Contest, any person releases the Beneficiaries from any liability for any damage they may suffer due to their participation or attempted participation in the Contest.
    3. Use and acceptance of the prize. By entering this Contest, any entrant selected for a prize assumes only their own liability and releases any person and/or legal entity from any liability for damages and/or harm that they may suffer as a result of accepting or using their prize.
    4. Prize guarantee and prize Suppliers. Any entrant selected for a prize acknowledges that the only guarantee applicable to the prize is the usual manufacturer’s warranty, if appropriate, and that upon receipt of the prize, any obligations become the responsibility of the service providers and products making up the prize.
    5. Operation of the Contest website. The Contest Organizers do not guarantee in any way that the Contest website or any site linked to it will be accessible or functional without interruption during the duration of the Contest or that it will be free from any error.
  2. DECISION AND DISPUTE
    1. Decision of the Contest Organizers. The decision of the Contest Organizers or their representatives relating to this Contest is final and without appeal, subject to any decision of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec about any question falling within its jurisdiction.
    2. Appeal. For residents of Quebec, a dispute regarding the organization or conduct of a promotional contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec, for a decision. A dispute regarding the awarding of the prize may be submitted to the Régie strictly for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
  3. MISCELLANEOUS
    1. Divisibility of paragraphs. If any paragraph of these Rules is declared or found illegal, unenforceable or void by a court of competent jurisdiction, then that paragraph will be deemed void. However, all other paragraphs which are not affected will be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by law.
    2. Language. If there is a discrepancy between the French and English versions of these Rules, the French version will prevail if an English version is available.
    3. Gender. The masculine gender in this document is intended only to lighten the text and is used without discrimination.
  • Confidentiality

By entering this Contest, you agree that the Contest Organizer may use your name and other personal information you provide to run the Contest and for different uses consistent with their Privacy Policy.


  • Disclaimer for Meta

This Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered, or associated with Meta. By entering this Contest, you agree to completely release Meta from any liability. All information provided in this Contest is transmitted to Unilever (Maille), not Meta. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest should be sent to Unilever (Maille), not Meta.
