Contest rules
“The 12 Days of Maille”
*This contest is open to residents of Canada and is governed by the laws of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable there.
1. Contest Rules and Organizers
IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE CONTEST RULES (HEREINAFTER THE “RULES”) CAREFULLY BEFORE ENTERING “THE 12 DAYS OF MAILLE” CONTEST (THE “CONTEST”) ORGANIZED BY UNILEVER
INTERNATIONAL (OPERATOR OF THE MAILLE BRAND IN CANADA), AND I-D FOODS CORPORATION, AS WELL AS THEIR RESEPECTIVE AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES AND PARENT COMPANIES (HEREINAFTER THE “CONTEST ORGANIZERS”). BY ENTERING THIS CONTEST, ENTRANTS CERTIFY THAT THEY MEET ALL OF THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS INDICATED BELOW AND AGREE TO COMPLY UNRESERVED WITH THESE RULES AND THE DECISIONS OF THE CONTEST ORGANIZERS, WHICH ARE FINAL AND WITHOUT APPEAL AS IT CONCERNS THE CONTEST UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THESE RULES.
2. Contest Period
The “Contest” will run online from December 12, 2024, at 12:01 a.m. ET to January 2, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”). To be valid, entries must be received no later than January 2nd, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
3. Eligibility
- This Contest is open to anyone legally residing in Canada who has reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of entry.
- The Contest excludes employees, representatives, proxies and agents of the Contest Organizers and advertising or promotion agencies, and any other parties involved in the design, production, implementation, administration or running of the Contest (collectively referred to as the “Concerned Parties”). Immediate family members of employees, representatives or agents of the Concerned Parties, including parents, brothers, sisters, children, spouses or domestic partners, are also excluded from participating.
4. How to enter
NO PURCHASE REQUIRED. MAKING A PURCHASE IN NO WAY INCREASES YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING THIS CONTEST.
- Entrants must complete the online Contest form at www.unleashtheflavours.ca (the “Contest Website”) to participate.
- Limit of one (1) entry per person per day.
- Any person who enters or attempts to enter more times than permitted or who uses any robotic, automatic, mechanical, electronic or other method of duplication not authorized under these Rules will be considered to have made an attempt at falsification or manipulation, which will automatically lead to the cancellation of its entry, vote or any other results of this entry.
- No entries will be accepted after the deadline mentioned above for any reason. Entries received after this deadline will be rejected.
5. Prizes
- Twelve (12) prizes to be won as part of the Contest for a total value of $3280.
- Prizes consist of:
- One (1) Le Creuset Cast Iron Essentials Set valued at $1,260.
- One (1) All-Clad Stainless Steel D3 10-inch Pan with Lid valued at $149.95.
- One (1) gift certificate for a Live Nova Scotia Lobster Dinner for Four. A value of $150.

- Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other alternatives.
6. Draw
The prize draw will take place at the offices of the Concerned Parties in Toronto on
January 6, 2025, at noon. The prize winners will be selected by random draw from all eligible participants in accordance with the participation method outlined in section 4 of these rules, during the Contest Period.
7. Awarding of prizes
- Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash or other goods. In the event that one or more of the announced prizes are unavailable, the Contest Organizers reserve the right to replace it with another prize of equal or greater value. Winners are not entitled to claim the cash value of the prize. The prize must be accepted as is and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash or other goods. If the announced prize is unavailable, the Contest Organizers reserve the right to replace it with another equivalent or greater value. Winners are not entitled to the cash value of the prize.
- The winners will be contacted by email by a representative of the Contest Organizers within five (5) business days following the Contest and must:
- Complete and sign the declaration and waiver form (the “Declaration Form”), which will be sent to them by email or fax, attesting to the fact that they have complied with all the conditions provided for in these Rules and return it to them by email so that they receive it within two (2) business days of receipt.
- Provide a correct answer to the mathematical skill-testing question that will be included on the Declaration Form.
- Upon request, provide valid photo identification promptly.
- If a selected entrant fails to comply with all requirements set out in the Rules, refuses the prize, fails to answer the mathematical skill-testing question correctly, or fails to complete, sign or return the Declaration Form in the manner or within the time limit prescribed by the Contest Organizers, or if they are declared ineligible for the prize in any way, they will be disqualified and will no longer be entitled to the prize. In such event, the Contest Organizers may, in their sole discretion, void the prize or randomly select another eligible entrant from among the remaining eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
- Each winner will receive their prize by mail within a maximum of four (4) weeks following receipt of the Declaration Form by the Contest Organizers.
- If any winner cannot be contacted within ten (10) business days following the first communication attempt, or after at least two (2) attempts, or if they refuse the prize, a new winner will be drawn randomly from among the entrants.
- The names of the prize winners will be published on the Maille Canada Facebook page.
These Rules ensure transparent and fair Contest management, ensuring all entrants have a fair chance of winning.
8. Terms and conditions:
- ENTRANT
Entrant identification. Within the scope of these Rules, the entrant is the person whose name appears on the entry form, and the prize will be awarded to this person if selected and declared a winner. - PERSONAL INFORMATION
- Authorization. By taking part in this Contest, any entrant selected for a prize authorizes the Contest Organizers and their representatives to use, if required, their name, photograph, image, voice, place of residence and/or statement relating to the prize for advertising purposes, and this, without any form of remuneration.
- Personal information. Personal information collected about entrants in this Contest will be used solely for running the Contest (as described in the Privacy Policy) unless the entrant has otherwise consented. No communication or correspondence, commercial or otherwise, not related to this Contest will be exchanged or sent to the entrant other than by these Rules unless the entrant has otherwise consented.
- CONTEST PARTICIPATION
- Verification. Entry forms and Declaration Forms are subject to verification by the Contest Organizers. Any entry form or Declaration Form which is, as the case may be, incomplete, illegible, mutilated, fraudulent, sent late, or which contains an invalid email address or telephone number, does not include the correct answer to the question mathematical order or is otherwise non-compliant, may be rejected by the Contest Organizers and will not entitle you, as the case may be, to an entry or a prize.
- Disqualification and/or compensation under the law. The Contest Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any person or void one or more entries of any person or obtain compensation under the law if they enter or attempt to enter this Contest using any means contrary to these Rules or likely to be unfair to other entrants (e.g. entries beyond the permitted limit). Any attempt to sabotage the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of civil and criminal laws. Should such attempts be made, the Contest Organizers reserve the right to reject the entrant’s entries and seek redress under the law.
- Modification. At their sole discretion, the Contest Organizers reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend, in whole or in part, this Contest in the event of an event or any human intervention that may alter or influence the administration, security, impartiality, or conduct of the Contest as provided for in these Rules.
- End of entry. If, for whatever reason, entry in the Contest should end in whole or in part before the end date provided for in these Rules, the selection of entrants may be made at the discretion of the Contest Organizers. Contest, among the entry forms duly collected and received up to the date of the event that ended the entry.
- Property. The Declaration Forms are the property of the Contest Organizers and will not, under any circumstances, be returned to entrants. Entrants may keep a copy of the Declaration Form.
- Prize
- Limit. In any case, the Contest Organizers cannot be required to award more prizes or prizes other those described in these Rules.
- Acceptance. The prizes must be accepted as described in these Rules. They cannot under any circumstances be transferred in whole or in part to another person, substituted for another prize or exchanged for money, subject to what is provided for under these Rules.
- Substitution. In the event it is impossible, complex and/or more expensive for the Contest Organizers to award a prize (or part of the prize) as described in these Rules, they reserve the right to award a prize (or part of the prize) of the exact nature and of equivalent value or, at their sole discretion, the monetary value of the prize (or part of the prize) indicated in these Rules.
- LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
- How the Contest works. The Contest Organizers, any company, partnership, trust or other legal entity controlled by or linked to them, their advertising and promotion agencies, their employees, representatives and agents (the “Beneficiaries”) disclaim all liability relating to the malfunction of any computer component, any software or any communication line, relating to the loss or absence of network communication or relating to any faulty, incomplete, incomprehensible or deleted transmission by any computer or network, and which may limit or prevent any person from reading the Contest Rules. The Beneficiaries also disclaim all liability for any damage or loss that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by downloading any Internet page or any software or otherwise and by transmitting any information aimed at participation in the Contest.
- Entry in the Contest. By entering or attempting to enter this Contest, any person releases the Beneficiaries from any liability for any damage they may suffer due to their participation or attempted participation in the Contest.
- Use and acceptance of the prize. By entering this Contest, any entrant selected for a prize assumes only their own liability and releases any person and/or legal entity from any liability for damages and/or harm that they may suffer as a result of accepting or using their prize.
- Prize guarantee and prize Suppliers. Any entrant selected for a prize acknowledges that the only guarantee applicable to the prize is the usual manufacturer’s warranty, if appropriate, and that upon receipt of the prize, any obligations become the responsibility of the service providers and products making up the prize.
- Operation of the Contest website. The Contest Organizers do not guarantee in any way that the Contest website or any site linked to it will be accessible or functional without interruption during the duration of the Contest or that it will be free from any error.
- DECISIONS RELATED TO THE CONTEST
- Decision of the Contest Organizers. The decision of the Contest Organizers or their representatives relating to this Contest is final and without appeal.
- MISCELLANEOUS
- ENTRANT
- Divisibility of sections. If any section or sub-section of these Rules is declared or found illegal, unenforceable or void by a court of competent jurisdiction, then that section or sub-section will be deemed void. However, all other sections which are not affected will be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- Language. If there is a discrepancy between the French and English versions of these Rules, the English version will prevail. In the Province of Québec, the French version shall prevail.
- Gender. The masculine gender in this document is intended only to lighten the text and is used without discrimination.
9. Confidentiality
By entering this Contest, you agree that the Contest Organizer may use your name and other personal information you provide to run the Contest and for different uses consistent with their Privacy Policy.
